A large-sized album with one hundred coloured woodblock
prints protected by tissue guards. Folio. (32.8 x 22.8 cm). With
printed numbers in Japanese. Ribbon-bound in traditional
Japanese style. Original coloured paper wrappers, worn, some
losses along edges. Hand-written title on upper cover.
A splendid work showing lovely designs for kimonos with images
of mainly flowers but also of plants, trees and birds. Several
include cranes, which symbolise luck and longevity in Japan.
The images are woodblock-printed in beautiful, rich colours
of which many with metallic highlights
